Aya Sakai
Aya Sakai is one of the main characters of the Kumiai universe, she is a close friend of Rina and Sophie. She is half Singaporean and half Japanese. She comes from an upper middle class family and she was able to enter the Kumiai academy thanks to a scholarship linked to her athletic abilities. She is currently a student at Kumiai High School.
Aya has a calm and tempered nature, she is very mature for her age. She hides a secret passion for cute and vulnerable things.
Aya is an outstanding athlete. She was several times champion in various national surfing competitions.

She hides a secret passion for cute and vulnerable things, it often happens that she stands in front of the window of a pet shop for several minutes just to observe the puppies or kittens. That’s why she particularly likes to tease and pamper Sophie.
Aya has a special affection for Sophie, whom she considers the ultimate model of the pure and innocent girl, being according to her too “masculine and not elegant”, Sophie represents for her a feminine ideal, she hopes that by making efforts she will manage one day to reach her goal.
